Churu Tour

Churu is widely known as the gateway to Thar Desert and is one of the towns in the desert region of Rajasthan. The place has gained popularity as a breeding center for sheep, camels etc. The place receives very little rain fall and relies mostly on river Katli for irrigation. Though the place does not have very many attractions for tourists yet there are a few historical buildings which can amuse the visitors. Churu is also popular for sandalwood objects.

Some of the leading tourist attractions at Churu are:

Salasar Balaji


A famous temple in the region, Salasar Balaji is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. It is widely believed that one's desire gets fulfilled if he prays in the temple.

Surana Haweli


A six storey building, Surana Haweli has a more than1100 artistic doors and windows which enchants the onlookers. A must visit for all those visiting Churu. .

Dudhwa Khara


A historical village, Dudhwa Khara is located in Thar Desert. The village has some grand havelis with intricate designs. Visitors can also enjoy camel safari here and see the rural side of Rajasthan.

Apart from all the above mentioned places visitors should also visit the local bazaar where they can buy local goods and take them as memoirs for their friends and relatives back home

The summer of Churu is very oppressive. However, the winter is nice and pleasant and conducive for a tour in the region. The best time to visit Churu is between between September and March.
